Mary J. Zombeck, 93, of Spring Street in Claremont, NH, died Monday (June 5, 2017) surrounded by her loving family.
She was born in Claremont, NH, on April 30, 1924, the daughter of Karol and Sophie (Jaworska) Zombeck and had been a lifelong Claremont resident. She attended St. Mary’s Grammar School and graduated from St. Mary’s High School, Class of 1942 as class salutatorian. Mary had been employed as a bookkeeper by Barnes, Rouillard and McPherson in Claremont. She was a communicant of St. Joseph’s Parish and typed the parish bulletin for many years. She enjoyed flower gardening and was a big fan of Tom Brady and the New England Patriots.
Members of her family include many nieces and nephews, grand nieces and nephews and great grand nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by three brothers, Michael Zombeck, Frank Zombeck, Emil Zombeck, Sr. and five sisters, Ann Zombeck, Helen Lewko, Frances Breault, Valeria Zombeck and Josephine Zombeck.
A Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 am on Friday (June 9) at St. Joseph’s Church with the Rev. Shawn M. Therrien, officiating.
Committal will follow in St. Mary’s Cemetery.
Friends may call at the Roy Funeral Home, 93 Sullivan Street, Claremont, NH on Friday morning from 10:00 am until the funeral procession leaves for the church.
The family suggests that in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions be made to the Lake Sunapee VNA/Hospice, 107 Newport Road, New London, NH 03257 or the Sullivan County Humane Society, 14 Tremont Square, Claremont, NH 03743.
