Harold Montague Chase Jr, 82, of Lebanon, NH, passed away on December 19, 2020, at Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center in Lebanon.
He was born in La Grange, IL, on December 28, 1937, the son of Harold and Frances (Bear) Chase.
He was in the US Army. In the Army Reserves from 1956 – 1965, then going active duty from 1965 – 1983. He did a tour in Vietnam and retired as a Lt. Colonel in 1983.
Harold had his Bachelors’ Degree in Nursing from Mt Sinai University. He was a nurse working in the operating room for 1983 – 2003 at Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center.
He was very active in many organizations. He was a 3rd Degree Mason and past Master of Hiram six times, Order of Eastern Star and Past Grand Patron, member of the 32nd Degree Scottish Rite, York Rite, the Bektash Shriners, Commandery, The Grange, Lunch Bunch and Knights Templer and a supporter of International Order of Rainbow for Girls.
Harold enjoyed fishing, cooking, researching ancestry, crossword and jigsaw puzzles and spending time with family and friends.
He is survived by his daughters, Debra Eliasen and her husband, Robert of Westminster, CO, ReBecca Hackett and her husband, Jon of Cornish and Stacey Gatto and her significant other, Joseph Dubuque of Lebanon; 11 grandchildren; 3 great grandchildren; sisters, Sally Kokes and her husband, Carl, Joellen Kuhl and her husband, Paul and Mary Moreau and her husband, Michel; his beloved dog, Miss Holly; his best friend, Lisa Carter White and several nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his parents, his wife, JoAnn (Usko) Chase whom he married on January 21, 1967 and she passed away on July 6, 2016 and his daughter, Jennifer Dyer.
A Memorial Service was held on Dec. 23 at the Stringer Funeral Home with the Masons, then Rev. Father John Loughnane.
