Alice A. (Kendall) Sombric, 74, passed away Thursday, afternoon, December 17, 2020, at the SullivanCounty Health Center in Unity, NH.
Alice was born in Gassetts, VT, on June 26, 1946, and moved toCharlestown, NH, in 1969 and lived there until moving to Sullivan County Health Center, Unity, NH, in June 2020.
Alice was predeceased by her parents Edward and Ada (Baker)Kendall, and siblings Jim Kendall, Everett Kendall, Fred Kendall, Ned Kendall, Flora (Kendall) Mack, Vera(Kendall) Magoon, her beloved four-legged companion, Razzle, and her former husband Walter P. Sombric Jr.
She is survived by her children Penny Seymour (and her husband James), Mary Calabro (and herhusband Stephen), and Donald Sombric, her grandchildren Brett Hull and Autumn Sombric and her sister Dorothy (Kendall) Haynes, many nieces, nephews, five step-granddaughters Elizabeth, Victoria, Christine, Grace, Catherine and six step-great grandchildren Mya, Nicholas, Noah, Liam, Sophia, and Olivia.
Alice worked for many years at Grobet File in Charlestown, NH, and then changed careers and worked for West Central Services a group home in Claremont, NH. She enjoyed thecompanionship of her special little poodle, Razzle. She enjoyed caring for her plants, socializing with friends, exercising, water aerobics and walking at the Claremont Savings Bank Community Center.
Alice was a strong independent woman who raised three children by herself after her former husbandpassed away. Alice, being an independent woman, at times worked two jobs to support her family. Alicewas strong willed and loved by those who knew her. She kept her independence as long as possible before the motor neuron disease, a form of ALS, stole her independence.
Per Alice’s request there will be no viewing or services. She will be cremated, and a small private servicewill take place in 2021.
The Stringer Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
