Elizabeth “Betty” Snide (Brady) of Walpole passed away on Saturday, September 2, 2017, after a courageous battle with lung cancer. Betty was raised in North Walpole, daughter of loving and devoted parents Gerald and Elizabeth Brady with her 3 brothers Gerry, Timmy, and Tommy and sister Ann. On October 22, 1983 she married P. Michael Snide of Walpole. They would have been married for 34 years this fall. Betty’s teaching career was spent working for the Fall Mt. School District as a Title 1 Teacher. She enjoyed working with students from 1st to 5th grades and loved sharing her favorite books and passion for reading with her students. Betty especially loved the seventeen summers she spent bringing enrichment activities to the students who participated in the Title 1 Summer Camp program she worked hard to develop. Not having a classroom of her own, the summer program became her classroom for the month of July. But her most proud accomplishments were being married to the love of her life and together raising their three amazing kids, Elizabeth Ward and her husband Kris of Walpole, Michael and his wife Hilary (Porter) of Lempster, and Carolyn Edson and her husband Sam of Walpole. She was blessed to have been Nana in the lives of her two adorable grandchildren, Elizabeth Elaine “Eliza” Ward of Walpole and Aidan Michael Snide of Lempster. Additionally she is survived by brother-in-law Steven Corey Sr. and sisters-in-law Rachel Brady, Denise Gale, and Debbie Kinson, as well as her many nieces and nephews. She is also survived by in-laws Bill and Cathy Fletcher. Public calling hours will be held at Stringer Funeral Home at 146 Broad Street in Claremont, NH on Saturday, September 9th, from 4-6pm. A private family service will be held at a later date. A cause close to the family is the CHaD Battle of the Badges Hockey Classic and in lieu of flowers, Betty has asked for donations to be made to this cause. Checks can be made payable to CHaD/DHH and mailed to One Medical Center Dr. Lebanon, NH 03756, with ‘Betty Snide’ in the memo line, or contact 603-308-2230.
