Cecelia B. Rutherford, 68, formerly of 7 Heritage Drive in Claremont, NH, died Tuesday night April 18, 2017, at the Sullivan County Nursing Home.
She was born in Buffalo, NY, on Aug. 1, 1948 the daughter of Fernand B. and Phyllis (Purvee) Belair and had resided in Claremont most of her life.
She was a graduate from the University of NH with a major in Zoology.
She retired on Jan. 1, 2007 from West Central Services in Claremont where she was a social worker for nearly six years and had previously worked at Valley Regional Hospital and as a substitute teacher at West High School in Manchester.
She was a member of the American Medical Association, the Women of the Moose Lodge #639 and the AARP.
The surviving family includes her two friends, Judy Knight and Lana Craig.
She was predeceased by her parents and two brothers, Louis Belair and Jerome Belair.
A graveside service will be held on Saturday, April 29th, at 2 PM in St. Mary Cemetery on Old Church Road in West Claremont with Fr. Shawn Therrien officiating.
Donations may be made in her memory to the North Shore Animal League, 25 Davis Court, Port Washington, NY.
