CLAREMONT, NH–Today, Tuesday, shortly after 11:00 a.m., Claremont Emergency Services were called to a single car accident in the area of 598 Elm Street. The caller reported multiple juveniles with injuries. Responding Emergency Services discovered a single car accident with a driver and four passengers. The driver was not injured, but the four passengers suffered injuries. Two passengers had to be extricated from the vehicle by Claremont Fire Department and Golden Cross personnel. All four passengers were transported to Valley Regional Hospital via Golden Cross Ambulance with serious but not life-threatening injuries. The passengers ranged in age from 15 to 16 years of age.
The driver of the vehicle was identified as Travis Franklin-Tonini, 19, of Claremont. He is cooperating with the investigation which is ongoing. Speed appears to have been a factor. The passengers were not wearing seatbelts which contributed to the severity of their injuries, said Claremont Police Chief Alex Scott.
The incident remains under investigation.
