Robert C. Lurvey, Sr., 83 of Charlestown, NH, died Sunday (December 12, 2021) at Springfield Rivers Nursing Home in Springfield, VT, following a period of failing health.
He was born in Royalton, VT, on August 25, 1938, the son of Iliff C. and Ethel E. (Clark) Lurvey and had been a longtime Cornish, NH, resident. Robert had been employed as a general foreman and quality control supervisor by Cone Blanchard in Windsor, VT, for 40 years. He later worked as an assembler for Wal-Mart for 10 years. He served in the United States Marine Corps. Robert enjoyed coon hunting, farming, fishing and playing bingo. He was an auxiliary member of the Charlestown, NH VFW Post 8497.
Members of his family include a son, Robert C. Lurvey, Jr. and his wife, Alexandra, Chester, VT; three daughters, Tammy Ayers and her husband, Walter, Weathersfield, VT; Tonia Calkins and her husband, Scott, Charlestown, NH; Robin Nadeau and her husband, Ray, Canaan, NH; five grandchildren, Kenny Flanders, Lindsay Chaffee, Brandy Conley, Samantha Fontaine, Justin “Robbie” Ayers, nine great grandchildren, Coltin Ayers, Emily Ayers, Walker Fontaine, Lawson Fontaine, Ava Conley, Parker Conley, Liam Conley, Declan Conley, Azalea Chaffee, two sisters, Pauline Tellor, Randolph, VT; Rachel Van Guilder, Claremont, NH.
He was predeceased by two brothers, Donald Lurvey, Walter Lurvey and three sisters, Arlene Rumrill, Viola Clark and Irene Gray.
Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday (December 18) at the Roy Funeral Home, 93 Sullivan Street, Claremont, NH. Committal with military honors will follow in Edminster Cemetery in Cornish, NH. Friends may call at the funeral home on Saturday morning from 10:00 am until the time of services.
