Paul S. “Steve” Gendell, 68, of Porter, ME, died on February 27, 2017, at Maine Medical Center in Portland, ME. He was born in Hanover, NH, on July 18, 1948, a son of Paul Gendell Jr. and Jean (Ginter) Gendell. He was educated in New Hampshire schools and a graduate of Stevens High School in Claremont, NH. He married Cheryl A. Childs on October 19, 1968.
Steve worked as a cable television technician for most of his working life. Time Warner Cable was one of the several companies he worked for over the years. Recently he was a member of the Parsonsfield-Porter Historical Society after moving to Porter. Steve enjoyed history and trivia very much. He also was interested in geneology and had a great love for music, even playing in a band called the “Outlaws” back in high school. Steve will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved him.
Surviving are his wife, Cheryl Gendell of Porter. A daughter, Jennifer Gendell and partner David Stewart of Dover, NH. 2 sons, Erik Gendell and wife Katrina of New York City, and Daniel Gendell and wife Bridgett of Baldwinsville, NY. A sister, Sarah Kennell and husband Brian of Claremont, NH. A brother, Michael Gendell and wife Helene of Auburn, Maine. 5 grandchildren: Skye Stewart, Haley Gendell, Carly Gendell, Sophia Gendell and Aiden Gendell. Also many nieces, nephews and cousins.
A private “celebration of life” is being planned by Steve’s family.
