Patricia Ellen Parent, 90, formerly of 3 Maple Street, Claremont, NH, passed away November 22, 2020, at Harvest Hill assisted living in Lebanon with her son Gary and daughter in-law Sharon by her side. She was born on May 30,1930, to Ray and Mary (Clough) Smith.
Her husband Robert predeceased her in 2007; they were married on Sept. 16, 1950 and were married for 57 years.
Pat retired in1989 from N.C. Marro Plumbing & Heating after 32 years as a bookkeeper; she previously worked for Joy Mfg. Co and Hebert Dry Cleaning.
Pat was an engaged member of the local community of Claremont and had an interest in many different activities through the years.
She was a communicant of St Joseph’s Parish, participated in the St. Joseph’s sports night committee for 15 years and St. Joseph’s Altar Society. She was a member of Court Virgil H. Barber #892 Catholic Daughters of America; a member and treasurer of the Ladies Union Aid Society; a member and past chairman of the Sullivan County Extension Program, Supervisor and Board Chairperson for the N.H. Community Federal Credit Union for 15 years and a member, past president, secretary, treasurer and program director of the Claremont Garden Club. Pat was a member of the Garden Club for 50 years and was recognized for this at the state convention. She was also the N.H. Federation of Garden Clubs Committee Chairperson and State Garden Club District Director for the Monadnock District.
Pat was predeceased by her brothers Philip, Ray Jr, Ronald and Kenneth. She is survived by her sister in law Beryl Smith of Claremont.
She is survived by her children: Gary & Sharon Parent of Lebanon; Lynn Parent & Eddie Hernandez of San Juan Capistrano, CA. Her grandchildren: Jill Chastenay of Claremont; Jennifer & Matt McConkey of San Juan Capistrano, CA; Julie Parent & Ojan Vafai of San Francisco, CA; Elisabeth Parent and Christopher Walton of Andover, NH. And her great grandchildren: Dylan McConkey, Evelyn & Emila Walton. Her grandchildren and great grandchildren gave her tremendous joy and she was so proud of all their accomplishments.
There will be a graveside service at a later date.
The family would like to thank the staff at Harvest Hill for their loving care of Pat over the last 2 ½ years, and appreciate the staff of Bayada for their assistance and guidance during the past year.
