Doris M. Gannon, 89, formerly of Elm Street in Claremont, NH, and more recently of Heritage Drive, died Friday (February 22, 2019) at her home surrounded by her family.
She was born in April 2, 1929, the daughter of Charles and Mabel (Macie) Short and had been a lifetime Claremont resident. Doris had been employed in the housekeeping department at Claremont General Hospital for 28 years. She was the widow of Roger Gannon who died in 1976.
Members of her family include a son, George Gannon, Claremont, NH; two grandchildren, Allison Lee, Richard J. Gannon, four great grandchildren, Tucker, Jeremy, Matthew, Sara Beth, and one great grandson, Wyatt, two brothers, Louis LeBlanc, Claremont, NH, Ernest LeBlanc, FL, one sister, Charlotte Companion and several nieces and nephews.
Doris was predeceased by a son, James White, two brothers, Charles Short, Bernard Short and a sister, Beverly Chappell.
There will be no visiting hours. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 am on Wednesday (February 27) at St. Mary’s Church with the Rev. Arockia Antony, officiating. Committal Services will be held at St. Mary’s Cemetery later in the spring.
The family suggests that in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the St. Joseph Parish Renovation Fund, 58 Elm Street, Claremont, NH 03743.
