Doris “Dot” E. Massicotte of Keene, NH, passed away August 29, 2018, at Peaceful Harvest Home in Charlestown, NH. She was surrounded by her family and loving caregivers after a period of declining health. She was born in Keene on March 14, 1928; daughter of the late Clarence and Josephine (Shattuck) Castor. She attended St. Joseph School and Keene High School. In her early years she worked as a supervisor on the assembly line at Kafelt Manufacturing. She was a long time resident of Keene and communicant of St. Bernard’s Church until four years ago when she moved to Charlestown to be cared for, due to Alzheimer’s disease. On February 15, 1947, she married Joseph H. Massicotte in a ceremony at St. Bernard’s Church. They shared 71 active and happy years together. She was a full time Mom to six kids and was always involved and supportive of their many interest and activities. Yet, she still found time to volunteer for the Red Cross Blood Drives. For 26 years she manned the registration desk and recruited volunteers. She was a member of the Ladies of St. Anne Society and the Knights of Columbus Ladies Auxiliary. She was an avid golfer and long time member of the Keene Country Club. She looked forward to the summer days of playing on the Women’s Twilight League and in the Women’s golf tournaments. She still kept busy in the winter participating in the Ladies Wednesday morning bowling league at Yankee Lanes. She loved to read and do crossword puzzles. Her sewing machine always had a project on it and her Christmas crafts are treasured. But, she will be remembered the most for her love of family, her love of children and her kindness to others. She will be greatly missed by all. She is survived by her husband Joseph; her children: Paul Massicotte and his partner Sherry Stanley of Walpole; Dennis Massicotte and his wife Jennie of Massachusetts; Steven Massicotte and his wife Gay of Maine; Gayle Stinson and her husband Bill of Troy; Cynthia Grout of Keene, and Jennifer Massicotte of Charlestown.
