David Mann, 80, of Charlestown, NH, passed away peacefully surrounded by family on May 19, 2019, at Valley Regional Hospital due to a terminal illness.
David was born on October 19, 1938, in Rochester, NY, to Edna and Paul Mann. He was the oldest of seven children, Rosemary Rowland of NY, Daniel Mann of TX, Jeremie Mann of SC, Christine Demars of FL, Eric Mann of NC and Karl Mann.
He served in the United State Army serving in Korea, from 1956-1959.
He married Dorothy Deware in 1963 and had three children.
David had worked for St. Johnsbury Trucking and Holmes Trucking for many years. In his later years, he enjoyed working at Okemo Mountain and driving the trolley in York Beach, ME. He enjoyed fishing and playing pool.
He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Dorothy Mann and his three children, Robert Mann and his wife, Dede, Robin Mann and her husband, Jeff Henslee and Richard Mann and his wife, Jessika; grandchildren, Stephan Lee, Matthew Lee and Benjamin Mann; great grandchildren, Maddox, Noah, Logan and Sawyer.
He was predeceased by his parents, Edna and Paul Mann and brother, Karl Mann.
Per David’s request the there will be no funeral services. Family will hold a private memorial/celebration of life service in the fall. Donations may be made in his name to Cancer research.
The Stringer Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
