Update: We contacted DHHS Wednesday to learn why the vaccination site is being moved to Newport. We received the following explanation:
“Our goal has always been to get as many people vaccinated as quickly as possible.
“Moving indoors is part of an on-going effort across the state to improve efficiencies and throughput at state-managed vaccination sites. As with other sites that have moved indoors, including Concord, West Lebanon, Salem and Newington, throughput is increased at the indoor sites, especially on days with inclement weather.
“All indoor sites have a curbside option in case a vaccine recipient has mobility concerns. Wheelchairs are also available at all indoor sites and staff will be happy to assist.”
