ALEXANDRIA, NH–On December 27, at approximately 4:00 p.m., The New Hampshire State Police responded to the report of a single, motor vehicle collision that had occurred on Route 104 at the intersection with Bog Road in the town of Alexandria. Responding units found a heavily damaged 2010 GMC Sierra pickup truck approximately 25 yards off the roadway into the wood line. On-scene investigation revealed that it appeared the vehicle was traveling eastbound on Route 104 when the operator failed to negotiate a sweeping right turn in the roadway, went off the left side off the roadway, struck the guard rail and careened into the valley adjacent to the roadway, struck several trees and came to rest in a stand of trees.
The driver, identified as Frederick Temple, 64, of Newport, NH, sustained significant injuries in the crash and was transported to Speare Memorial Hospital in Plymouth for further evaluation. Also in the vehicle with Temple were two juveniles who sustained minor injuries and crawled from the wreckage to seek assistance. Units responding to the scene included personnel from the NH State Police-Troop F, along with members of the Alexandria and Bristol Fire Departments.
