Rose P Maley, a longtime resident of Claremont, NH, passed away on March 18, 2020, at the age of 97. She was one of seven children, born in Claremont on June 21, 1922, to the parents of Gregory and Anna Pesarik. Formally of W. Lafayette St. in Claremont. Rose married her beloved husband on June 5, 1954; they enjoyed 55 years of marriage before his passing in 2008.
Rose was a Stevens High graduate, class of 1941. She continued her education over the years attending University of New Hampshire, University of Nebraska, and finishing her education at Plymouth State College where she received a master’s degree in Elementary Education in 1982.
She worked for the US Government, the Department of Selective Services, in Concord for over 20 years while earning her undergraduate degree. She taught Russian in Berlin and Concord NH and also taught Russian full time as an associate professor prior to retiring.
Rose, along with her husband, retired in Claremont where they continued to enjoy life, family, and travel. Rose loved and enjoyed her family tremendously. A day didn’t go by without phone calls being made, letters written or greeting cards mailed for those special occasions. She also remembered loved ones who had passed away by planting flowers on their graves every Memorial Day; this was very important to her each year.
Rose is survived by her sister, Ruth P Thompson, of Claremont and by several nieces and nephews living throughout the states as well as those living in Russia. She will be truly missed and fondly remembered by her entire family and all her friends she made over the years.
A small, private family service will be held at Stringer Funeral Home on Thursday March 26. At a later date, a Memorial Service and Celebration of Life will be held for all extended family and friends. Per her request for those interested. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to The American Cancer Society.
