Maryjane Ford, 85, of Claremont, NH, passed away on December 16, 2019, at the Elm Wood Center in Claremont, NH.
She was born in Hartford, CT, on November 6, 1934, the daughter of Patrick J. and Mary O’Leary.
Maryjane was a graduate of Farmington High School in 1954 and a graduate of Phoenix Business School in 1956.
She had studied art at many places in New England. She had worked for Travelers Insurance Company, East Farms Elementary School and Wire Mold. She was a member of the NH Watercolor Society.
Maryjane was always involved in several community activities. She enjoyed being part of Claremont and was always willing to provide art classes to Junior Catholic Daughters of the Americas as well as many other non-profit groups. She painted in many mediums, but her favorite was watercolors. She enjoyed painting the beautiful wildflowers of NH as well as barns, mountains, and other beautiful aspects of this region. She was represented by many area arts stores as well as showing her work in many art exhibits throughout the northeast. It is a testament to her talent that her work hangs in many area hospitals as well as homes and businesses throughout the area.
She was the widow of Thomas G. Ford whom she married on May 4, 1957; he passed away on December 31, 2018.
She is survived by her children, Thomas P. Ford of FL and Jacqueline M. Ford of Claremont; grandchildren, Jonathan C. Marro, Corey P. Marro, Jessica E. Marro and Chelsea M. Melna; great grandchild, Julius Yuri Antonnio Marro-Cashman; sister, Cathy O’Leary Carey and her husband, John and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
She was predeceased by her parents, sisters, Patricia O’Leary and Barbara J. Bussolini and sister-in-law, Grace Sinclair.
Visiting hours will be held at the Stringer Funeral Home, 146 Broad Street in Claremont on Thursday, December 19th from 4 to 6 PM.
A Mass of Christian burial will be held at St. Mary Church in Claremont on Friday, December 20th at 10 AM. Burial will follow in St. Mary Cemetery.
