The gentle soul of Wanita J. (Ordway) Hardy continued its journey when she passed away after a long illness on the 10th of March 2017. Wanita’s seven siblings Wayne (Carolyn) Ordway, Wanda (Stuart) Harris, Wendy Laplume, Wyatt (Carole) Ordway, Ward Ordway, Willo (Sean) Sullivan, and Welma (James) Robinson and their families, wish her safe passage. Born in Ft. Belvoir, VA, on January 12, 1961, to David and Frances (Gerow).
Ordway and raised in Bethlehem, NH, Wanita graduated from Profile High School in 1979. Shortly after graduation she married David Hardy and they began a 37- year marriage of friendship and fun. Wanita and David traveled the globe together and adopted their Korean born son Quintin while stationed in Japan in 1986. From Tucson, AZ, to Misawa Japan, from North Pole Alaska to Omaha, NE, and from Fort Meade, MD, to Rochester and Claremont, NH, her spirit touched many, and she gathered many treasured friends while never forgetting those from the third grade. A lover of all animals great and small, her dogs meant the world to her, especially Franky who was always with her. Wanita also had a great love of music, especially in small venues and shared with her family and friends. A most caring and giving person—known for her kindness, Wanita was loved by all.
A celebration of her spirit and life will be held this summer at the family home.
