Nestlé Prepared Foods Recalls Not-Ready-to-Eat Pepperoni Hot Pockets Product Due to Possible Foreign Matter Contamination WASHINGTON, DC—Nestlé Prepared Foods, a Mt. Sterling, Ky. establishment, is recalling approximately 762,615 pounds of not-ready-to-eat (NRTE) pepperoni hot pockets product that may be contaminated with extraneous materials, specifically pieces of glass and hard plastic, the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS) announced Friday.The frozen NRTE pepperoni hot pockets product was produced from Nov. 13, 2020 through Nov. 16, 2020. The product has a shelf life of 14 months. The following product is subject to recall: 54-oz carton packages containing 12 “Nestlé HOT POCKETS BRAND SANDWICHES: PREMIUM PEPPERONI MADE WITH PORK, CHICKEN & BEEF PIZZA GARLIC BUTTERY CRUST” with a “BEST BEFORE FEB 2022” date and lot codes 0318544624, 0319544614, 0320544614, and 0321544614.The product subject to recall bears establishment number “EST. 7721A” inside the USDA mark of inspection. The product was shipped to retail locations nationwide.The problem was discovered when the firm received four consumer complaints of extraneous material in the pepperoni hot pocket product.The firm has received one report of a minor oral injury associated with consumption of this product. FSIS has received no additional reports of injury or illness from consumption of this product. Anyone concerned about an injury or illness should contact a healthcare provider.FSIS is concerned that some product may be frozen and in consumers’ freezers. NH DHHS COVID-19 Update – January 15, 2021Concord, NH – On Friday, January 15, 2021, DHHS announced 794 new positive test results for COVID-19, for a current PCR test positivity rate of 5.2%. Today’s results include 561 people who tested positive by PCR test and 233 who tested positive by antigen test. There are now 6,574 current COVID-19 cases diagnosed in New Hampshire. Of the results reported today: 1/5: 128 new cases today, for an updated total of 934 cases 1/13: 154 new cases today, for un updated total of 497 cases 1/14: 512 new casesTest results for previous days are still being processed and the total number of new positives for those days are not yet complete. Several cases are still under investigation. Additional information from ongoing investigations will be incorporated into future COVID-19 updates. Of those with complete information, there are one hundred-five individuals under the age of 18 and the rest are adults with 54% being female and 46% being male. The new cases reside in Rockingham (179), Hillsborough County other than Manchester and Nashua (155), Strafford (64), Merrimack (48), Cheshire (43), Belknap (32), Sullivan (31), Coos (30), Carroll (25), and Grafton (15) counties, and in the cities of Manchester (69) and Nashua (69). The county of residence is being determined for thirty-four new cases.Community-based transmission continues to occur in the State and has been identified in all counties. Of those with complete risk information, most of the cases are either associated with an outbreak setting or have had close contact with a person with a confirmed COVID-19 diagnosis.DHHS has also announced eleven additional deaths related to COVID-19.
