Theresa M. LaPointe, 83, of Claremont, NH, died on May 7, 2016, at her daughter’s home in Cornish surrounded by her family. She was born in Belmont, NH, on April 4, 1933, the daughter of Alfred and Irene (Parent) Dupont. Theresa was an RN and had worked for 25 years at Claremont General Hospital and Sullivan County Nursing Home. She was former member of the Ladies of St. Anne Society and President of AARP. She had volunteered at the Adult Education Program, American Red Cross and at Valley Regional Hospital. Theresa enjoyed walking, reading and spending time with her family. The family includes her husband, Donald “Red” LaPointe whom she married on July 4, 1953; their daughters, Rhonda Sharkey of Claremont; Donna Tewksbury and her husband, Alan of Cornish; Karen Pore and her husband, Jerry of Plainfield, IL; and Pamela Fairbanks of Claremont; their son, Colan LaCroix and his wife, Cindy of Claremont; 13 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren; four great great grandchildren; her brother, Alfred “Tommy” Dupont of New Jersey; also many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her son, Richard “Duke” LaPointe; her son-in-law, Bruce Sharkey and her siblings, Oscar F. Dupont, Blanche Condon and Rita Forcier. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Mary Church in Claremont on Wednesday, May 11th, at 11 AM with Father Shawn Therrien officiating. Interment will follow in St. Mary Cemetery. In lieu of flowers donations may be made in her memory to St Mary Church, 32 Pearl Street, Claremont, NH 03743. The Stringer Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
