Stuart L. Stone 71, of Claremont, NH, passed away at home on December 17th, 2021, surrounded by his family. Stuart was born on August 15, 1950, in Claremont.
Stuart graduated from Stevens High School in 1968. He graduated with an Associate’s degree from NH Vocational College, class of 1970. He enlisted in the US Army for four years, he graduated from Aberdeen, Proving Grounds, the top of his class. Then was stationed at Fort Hood where he was in Leadership school. He served two tours in Vietnam, with pride. After his tour, he was stationed at Fort Benning, with the rank of E-5.
He was then employed at Joy Manufacturing for 10 years, NJM for 22 years, CRREL for 10 years, and then most recently at Black Op Arms LLC. He was also the owner/chef of FMS Catering for 25 years.
He is survived by his loving wife Mary (Riviezzo) Stone, his son Jonathan Stone and his partner Melissa Dana, and his daughter Lianne Heiser and her fiance Shawn Travis. He was a loving grandfather to his grandsons Christian Stone and Nicholas Stone, of whom he was very proud, never missing any of their sporting events. He is also survived by his furry grandson Apollo, his sister-in-law Rita Quintey and his sister Judy Farrington and his nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents, Wendell and Irene Stone, brother William Stone and his sister Wendy Stone.
He was a member of the VFW in Charlestown and a life member of the DAV. He enjoyed cooking, fishing, going to casinos, traveling, and spending time with family.
Visiting hours will be held at Stringer Funeral Home in Claremont, NH, on Wednesday, December 22 from 2 pm-4 pm and 6 pm-8 pm. A mass will be held in his honor at Saint Joseph’s Church in Claremont on Thursday, December 23, at 11 am, with Rev. Arockia Antony officiating. Burial with military honors will be held at Saint Mary’s Cemetery immediately following the mass. Reception immediately following burial, location to be announced.
