Sophie Chandler, 94, died on Saturday October 15, 2016, at the Elm Wood Center in Claremont, NH.
She was born in Claremont on August 2, 1922, the daughter of Afanasi and Alexandria (Warzine) Obymako.
She married Arnold Chandler in 1942; he died in 1997.
She had worked for Dartmouth Woolen Mill and Tambrands.
The family includes two sons, Arnold Chandler Jr of Hopkinton, and James Chandler of Charlestown; four grandchildren, Ethan Chandler, Seth Chandler, Aaron Chandler, and Sarah Chandler; six great grandchildren; one brother, Paul Obymako; two sisters, Rose Fisher, and Lillian Lawrence; and many nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by a brother, Michael Obymako; three sisters, Mary Siwek, Hope Porter, and Olga Obymako.
A graveside service will be held in St. Mary’s Cemetery on Friday, October 21st, at 1 PM with Pastor Scott Kearns officiating.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Grace River Church.
