Ruth L’Heureux, 66, of South Cornish passed away on Sunday evening January 22, 2017, at her home after a courageous battle with cancer. She was born September 20, 1950, the daughter of Raymond and Mildred Richardson of Woodsville, NH.
She will be sadly missed by all her family and friends. Ruth was a graduate of Stevens High School in the class of 1968. Ruthie was an excellent seamstress and owned her own shops Alteration by Ruth in both Claremont and South Cornish for many years. Ruth’s sister Betty writes “I’ll always think of the creative talents of my sister, Ruth. For most of us creativity ebbs and flows, for Ruth it was constant. She really is an artist.” Ruth’s passion was knitting, as we all have beautiful sweaters that she knit. She also was a judge at the Cornish Fair for a couple of years.
Ruthie also loved all her animals especially her horse Garrett and her two donkeys Gypsy & Mercy along with her chickens and her newest little kitty Charlie.
She is survived by her husband David L’Heureux of South Cornish, her mother Mildred Richardson also of South Cornish, and four sisters Juanita Ploof and her husband Dennis Ploof of Claremont NH, Dorothy Flint of Grand Bay Alabama, Katherine Lockwood of Windsor VT, and Betty Parker and husband Michael Parker of Sandwich NH. Also her two son’s David (Skip) Beland and his wife Bo Beland of Pflugerville Texas and Darrell Beland of Charlestown NH along with many nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her father in 2005.
Visiting hours will be held at Stringers Funeral Home, 146 Broad Street Claremont on Friday, January 27th, from 5 to 7. A service will follow at 7pm.
In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to the charity of one’s choice.
