Rose Mary Bly, 90, of Claremont, NH, passed away on December 9, 2019 at the Woodlawn Care Center in Newport.
She was born in Claremont, NH, on October 11, 1929, the daughter of Antonio and Congetta (Marro) Zullo.
Rose was a graduate of St. Mary High School in the class of 1947, friendships which she cherished throughout her life. She enjoyed playing basketball, a passion she passed on to her sons and her granddaughter.
She had married William D. Bly on April 3, 1948; he passed away on January 26, 1996.
She had been an office manager for many years at the Mayberry Shoe Company in Rochester, NH.
She enjoyed baking, and she will especially be remembered for her lemon meringue pie. She truly loved her family.
She is survived by her sons, Dustin W. Bly and his wife, Ann of Estero, FL, and Anthony Bly and his wife, Marie of Milan, NH; a granddaughter, Suzanne Bly-Bozzuto and her wife, Elizabeth of Watertown, CT; step-granddaughters, Beth Ann Johnson and husband, John Moran and Melissa Johnson; and three great grandchildren, Julia, Mateo and Luke Moran; her brother, Pete Zullo of NC and many nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her parents, brothers, Rocco Zullo, Fred Zullo, Patrick Zullo, Alexander Zullo and Oliver Zullo and sisters, Theresa Diprimo, Mary Gobeille, Louisa Baldasaro, Delores Curtis and Adrianne Baldsarra.
Visiting hours will be held at Stringer Funeral Home, 146 Broad Street in Claremont on Saturday morning, December 14th from 8:30 to 9:30 AM. A mass of Christian burial will be held at St. Mary Church at 10AM with the Very Rev. Father Shawn Therrien officiating. Burial will follow in St. Mary Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her memory to St. Jude’s Hospital at www.stjudes.org
