Pauline A. Martel, 89, former longtime resident of Red Water Brook Road in Claremont, NH, died Tuesday (October 4, 2016) at Sullivan County Healthcare, following a period of failing health.
She was born in Berkshire, VT, on December 14, 1926, the daughter of Leonide and Arzienne (Charron) Brouillette and had been a longtime area resident. She was a graduate of Richford High School in Richford, VT. Pauline had been employed by Goodyear Tire & Rubber in Windsor, VT for 23 years. She was a communicant of St. Mary Parish. Pauline was a member of the Claremont Senior Center. She will be fondly remembered for her kind spirit, joyful personality and warm smile. Her passion revolved around caring for her children, grandchildren, pets and tending beautiful flower gardens.
She was the widow of Raymond Martel who died on April 14, 1990.
Members of her family include three daughters, Susan McClellan and her husband, John, Bow, NH; Ann Martel-Marton and her husband, Stewart, White River Jct., VT; Rosemary Martel and her longtime companion, Tom Maxfield, Claremont, NH; three grandchildren, Juliana Taylor, Marissa Marton, Kaitlyn, McClellan, a great granddaughter, Fiona Taylor, two brothers, Maurice Brouillette, West Palm Beach, FL; Albert Brouillette, Honeybrook, PA; two sisters, Rachel Martel and Jeanne Royer, both of St. Albans, VT and several nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her son, Captain Norman Martel, who died in 1981 and a brother, Richard Brouillette.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 am on Saturday in St. Mary’s Church with the Rev. Shawn M. Therrien, pastor, officiating.
Interment will follow in St. Mary’s Cemetery.
Friends may call at the Roy Funeral Home, 93 Sullivan Street, Claremont, NH on Friday evening from 6pm to 8pm and Saturday morning from 9am until the funeral procession leaves for church.
