Patricia Miles ‘Pat’ Gould, 90, passed away peacefully in the care of Sullivan County Healthcare Center in Unity, NH, on September 19, 2020.
Pat was a lifelong resident of Claremont, NH. Since the age of 18, she was employed by the City of Claremont, first in the capacity of secretary to the manager, then as treasurer, and finally as tax collector. She retired after 40+ years there in the city offices. She then was employed for several years in administration at the non-profit Student Conservation Society in Charlestown, NH. She enjoyed her experience there immensely, partly because she was so proud to be a part of an organization that was engaged in placing teen and college age students for work in the state and national parks, and the wild, and for helping protect the environment. Pat was well known to many in the Claremont community. She loved working with others, and served the public with integrity, patience, and grace. At the same time Pat lived a very quiet private life, loving her cats, and often enjoying summer vacationing on the coast of Maine with the kids, and her husband of 37 years, Bunny Gould.
She leaves a son, Michael Pullen of Claremont; a grandson, Django Pullen of Lubec, ME; a stepson, James Gould of Springfield, VT; a stepdaughter, Deborah McCarthy of Hilton Head Island, SC; two step-grandchildren; and two step – great – grandchildren. And of course, all her friends and a few cousins.
A graveside service will be held Thursday, September 24th at 11 AM at Mountain View Cemetery in Claremont, with the Rev. Andrew Tregubov officiating. In lieu of flowers or gifts, please donate to the Student Conservation Association in her name.
Due to the COVID-19 pandemic Stringer Funeral Home and the Gould family ask all attending to abide with all regulations and please wear a mask and use social distancing.
