Nicholis Burke Sr., 40, of Claremont, NH, passed away after a rough fight with Covid-19 on September 2, 2021.
Nicholis was born on January 18, 1981 in Pittsfield, MA. He was raised in Becket, MA, by his grandparents, Josephine and Russell Burke, before finally settling down in Claremont, NH, in 2010. He went to Wahconah High School in Dalton, MA, class of 2000. He married his high school sweetheart, Cassie Burke, on May 31, 2003. He was a volunteer at Beckett, MA, fire department.
Nicholis was a loving and amazing husband, father, grandfather, and friend. He has taught his children to reach for the stars and to stand up for what they believe in. He enjoyed playing video games, especially Destiny 2. He also enjoyed driving, traveling, adventures and mudding. His favorite color was plum purple. He was affectionately nicknamed The Hulk because he was the strongest man his friends and family knew. A favorite quote of his is “if you’re feeling froggy, take a leap”.
Nicholis is survived by his wife of 18 years, Cassie; children, Jerlynn and son-in-law Joshua, Nicholis Jr., Wyatt, La’Nise, and Brandy; grandchildren Nia, and A’donise, grandfather Russel Burke, parents; Sharon and stepfather James Nolan, and Michael Burke, parent-in-laws Katrina and Roger Bell; sister Sherry Blake, brother-in-law Gregory Jordan, nieces and nephews along with many loved ones, including a family of bombshells.
He was predeceased by his grandparent Josephine Burke, George and Lois Porter and brother Dana Porter.
There will be a life celebration on September 11, 2021 from 1pm to 5pm. The celebration will take place at the top of Moody Park, 152 Maple Ave., Claremont, NH. The family requests people wear purple to help celebrate. Please bring your own chairs. If you are able to, bring a dish to share.
