On Friday, May 8th, 2020, Michael John Lapine, loving husband and father of four children, passed away after a long illness surrounded by his wife, Tammie, who remained by his side and by his family and friends, in his cherished home at the age of 73.
He was born on November 21, 1946, in Springfield, MA. He grew up in Windsor, VT, creating many wild and special memories with his life-long friend, Jerry Young.
He enlisted into the US Navy during Vietnam at the age of 17. He was on board the USS Okinawa. Achieving three metals including the Vietnam service metal, The National Defense Service Metal, and the Republic of Vietnam Campaign Metal. This is where he learned his deep pride and love of country and patriotism. Upon his return home, he worked at Goodyear for 14 years, Lacrosse for 10 years, and Sturm Ruger for 14 years from which he retired at the age of 62.
He was an extremely hard worker, but truly enjoyed his retirement, taking many rides with his wife, Tammie, to wherever his MAZDA Miata would lead him. They enjoyed many trips to Lake George together, tearing up the town whenever they went. He truly lived his life on his own terms. He was always the life of the party right until the end, coming out and joining his family to sing one last song. The smile on his face that night will be forever cherished.
He loved to play pool, horseshoes, bowl, and play cards. He especially loved playing cribbage with his son every Wednesday for which he was known to rarely lose!
He was very sentimental and never afraid to show his vulnerability. He cherished his children and taught them to love unconditionally, to see the good in EVERYONE and to live life to its fullest. He’s going to give the next place one hell of a party!
He was predeceased by his father, Dwight Lapine, his mother, Irene Barton, his brother, Dwight Lapine, Jr, step-mother, Loretta Lapine and his beautiful triplet daughter, Tracy Lapine for whom he deeply loved and outwardly missed.
