Mavis Eleanor Craig, 91, died peacefully on July 22, 2019. She was born in Plaster Rock, New Brunswick, Canada, to John MacDonald and Ethel Harrison Howe on March 18, 1928. She married Stanley D. Craig on June 28, 1947 in Windsor, VT, and was a lifelong resident of Claremont, NH.
Mavis was preceded in death by her husband Stanley; and sons Douglas and Gary, and son-in-law Francis Legace, her brother Howard MacDonald and sister Jaqueline Beauregard, great granddaughter Tristyn.
She is survived by brother Stanley MacDonald, her sons Ronald and David Craig, daughter Nancy Legace. Her grandchildren Tammy Craig, Shelly Berry, Brandi Girard, Lauren Weingates, Jennifer Deutschbein, Daniel Craig, Jason Craig, Amie Ferris, Michael Craig, Logan Craig and Kristy Snow. She is also survived by several nieces, nephews, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
Mavis enjoyed quilting and made hundreds of quilts for her family and friends. She was an avid reader and was always picked first for family trivial pursuit games because she always knew the answers.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday (July 26) at the Roy Funeral Home, 93 Sullivan Street, Claremont, NH with the Rev. Dale Louise Nicholas, officiating. Committal services will be held at a later date and time to be announced.
Friends may call at the Roy Funeral Home on Friday from 12:00 pm until time of services.
