Joseph Monette, 59, passed away on February 14, 2019, at the Woodlawn Nursing home in Newport NH, with Tiny, his teddy bear friend, by his side. Joe was born on February 08, 1960, in Windsor VT, the son of Donald and Pauline (Tierney) Monette. Joe went to school in Cornish and graduated from Stevens High School in Claremont, NH. in 1979. Joe loved to drive his car, waving to all those he met. He once painted G I Joe on the trunk so everyone would recognize him. Joe’s favorite foods were McDonalds fillet-o-fish and chocolate ice cream with a Coke.
Joe was predeceased by his mother Polly in 1997. He is survived by his father, Donald, of Cornish, and five brothers, Peter his twin, Steven of Enfield, David and wife Maria, Michael and wife Robin and William all of Cornish; four nephews, Christopher, Joshua, Daniel and Montgomery and one niece, Shaylee.
Joe’s family is very grateful to all those who made his life easier for him, especially Dr. Barros and her staff at West Central Services, the nurses of the VNA, Tammy and staff at McCoy Home, Joe’s neighbors and friend Brian at Lincoln Heights and lastly the people at Woodlawn who even gave Joe a surprise birthday party which delighted him very much.
There will be no funeral service. Committal will be in Child’s Cemetery in Cornish at a later date.
The Stringer Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
