Joseph C. St. Pierre, 85, of Maple Avenue in Claremont, NH, passed away on Tuesday, June 4, 2019, following a short and courageous battle with cancer.
He was born on September 21, 1933, in Lewiston, ME; the son of Laura (Paquette) St. Pierre and Alfred St. Pierre, he resided in Claremont for 54 years.
He served in the Air Force until the plane he was in crashed and he suffered a broken back.
Joe graduated from Tufts University and dedicated his life to the education and guidance of the students at Stevens High School and the Middle School for over 45 years. During the 80’s, he also served as the Police Commissioner of Claremont.
Surviving members of his family include his wife, Theresa St. Pierre, daughter, Carol Jardine, and his grandson, Marcus Jardine, all of Claremont; his granddaughter, Heather (Jardine) Zarubaiko along with her husband Ted and great grandchildren, Hailey and Riley all of Haverhill, MA; his sister, Dotty Wilson and her husband, Joe and nieces, Debbie and Linda Wilson all of Dallas TX.
Joe was very proud of his family, former students, and community. He will be missed by everyone whose life he touched.
Visiting hours will be held at Stringer Funeral Home in Claremont on Sunday, June 9th from 2 to 4 PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be at St. Mary Church on Monday, June 10th at 11 AM. Burial will follow in St. Mary Cemetery on Plains Road in Claremont.
In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting that donations be made to St. Mary Church, 32 Pearl Street, Claremont, NH 03743 as Joe’s religion was another important aspect of his life.
