JoAnn Usko (Tinker) Chase passed to a more serene existence on July 6, 2016, after a long illness. She was born in Windsor, VT, on July 24, 1942 the daughter of John and Jennie (Usko) Tinker. She graduated from Stevens High School in 1960 and Concord School of Nursing in 1963. She entered the US Army Nurse Corps and served a year in Vietnam from 1965-1966. JoAnn married Harold M. Chase Jr in Columbus, GA, in 1967. She followed her husband in his military career, working in Army and VA hospitals. After he retired, they returned to her childhood home and she was employed at VRH, Mary Hitchcock Hospital and MT Ascutney Hospital. JoAnn was a member of Woodman Aurora Kimball Summit,#16, OES, serving as Worthy Matron for several years. She enjoyed camping, fishing and spending summers in Moody Beach, ME. She is survived by her husband of 49 years, Harold; four daughters, Jennifer Dyer of Claremont, Debra Eliasen and her husband, Robert of Westminster, CO, ReBecca Hackett and her husband, Jon of Cornish and Stacey Gatto and her significant other, Joseph Dubuque of Lebanon; 14 grandchildren; one great grandson; one niece and nephew and several cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents and her sister, Cynthia Rozela. Visiting hours will be held at Stringer Funeral Home, 146 Broad Street in Claremont on Sunday, July 10th from 3 to 5PM. Funeral service will be held at the Funeral Home on Monday, July 11th, at 2PM. Burial will follow in Mountain View Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her memory to Woodman Aurora Kimball Summit, #26, OES, 40 Maple Avenue, Claremont, NH 03743.
