Joan Patricia Dumont, age 83 of Claremont, NH, passed away on June 8th, 2022 surrounded by her sons and dear friends Jan and Nora. Joan was born May 14, 1939 in Manchester, NH, to Beatrice Belaire.
Joan is survived by her two sons, Roland of West Lebanon, NH, and Mark Dumont and his wife Paula of Derby Line, VT. She is also survived by her three grandchildren, Catherine (Dumont) Ward and her husband Ryan of Derby, VT, Tori Dumont and her partner Josh Riehle of Palm Coast, FL, and Matthew Dumont of Derby Line, VT. Joan also leaves her two great grandsons, Brannen Ward and Mason Riehle. All of whom are her pride and joy. Joan is also survived by special friends, Herbert Savery, Jan Lord, Nora Kells-Gordon as well as her family at the Tolles Home in Claremont, NH, and her church family at the Meriden Congregational Church, especially pastors Sue Gregory Davis and her husband John. Joan was predeceased by her mom and stepfather Beatrice (Belaire) and Carroll Carlton of Claremont, NH.
Joan worked extremely hard her entire life, working at Petersons Plastics, Joy Manufacturing, Goodyear Rubber, Splitball Bearing, the VA Hospital and Walmart, making friends wherever she worked. Joan loved to do random acts of kindness for others while never wanting any credits for those acts. Joan was also known for her sense of humor saying almost anything to get a rise out of someone. Joan was the target of her own self-deprecating humor. Joan was fiercely independent and had a love for all New England professional sports teams. One of Joan’s favorite sayings was, “She lived, she laughed, she loved, she left.”
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Tolles Home, 44 Sullivan St. Claremont, NH or the charity of one’s choice. Graveside services will be at Mountain View Cemetery in Claremont, NH, on Wednesday, June 22, at 11 AM.
