Joan A. Kuncik Parkhurst, 68, of Northwest St. Charlestown NH, died peacefully at Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center on Tuesday, March 28, 2017, from a heart attack.
She was born Jan. 26, 1949, in Long Branch, NJ. Although she grew up in a city in New Jersey, she and her first husband, (deceased) Peter Kuncik, decided to relocate. Landing in Charlestown, she quickly fell in love with the community. On top of working for Kosons Insurance Agency and being a mother of two, she was a member of Rotary, the President of St. Catherine’s Ladies Club, the Town Treasurer and Supervisor of the Checklist.
She was a proud mother of her daughter Kerri and son-in-law Neda Ladjevardia (deceased), son Kevin and his wife Jill and a MiMi to four grandchildren (Jackson, Cameron, Molly and Brendan).
She is survived by her husband Larry Parkhurst of Charlestown, NH, his daughters Kathra, Joyce, Janet and Lisa. Also seven grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren, her sisters Nancy Smith and Sally Moyer brothers Gary Hill, Charlie Hill and predeceased by Richard Hill.
In lieu of flowers memorial donations in Joan’s name may be made to the North Charlestown United Methodist Church, PO Box 735 Charlestown NH 03603.
Calling hours will be Sunday, April 2 from 4-6pm at Charlestown Memorial Chapel, 34 Main St. in Charlestown with a memorial service on Monday, April 3, at 11am at the United Methodist Church in Charlestown.
Burial will be at the families’ convenience at later date.
A luncheon will be served following the service at the church.
