Jerry Vaughn Duford, Jr. from Charlestown, NH, died on December 20, 2021, at his home. It is with profound sadness that Jerry’s (J.V.) family needs to acknowledge his passing. Jerry was born March 7, 1970, to Marion (Adolph) (Dezan) Duford and Jerry V. Duford, Sr.
In his early years, Jerry raced BMX bicycles, winning several awards and trophies. Jerry attended school in Claremont, NH, where he made lifelong friends. He developed a passion for motorcycles and with love and support from Neil Lord Sr., he was encouraged to develop that passion. His racing career went from the dirt track, Laconia’s motorcycle road racing to the thrill of hill climbs. He earned “King of the Hill” at Gunstock Hill Climbs. Racing and riding motorcycles, snowmobiles and four wheelers always provided good times with friends and wild antics.
As a mechanic at Dan O’Brian’s Subaru, Jerry was always willing to help anyone with motor problems and he was often called on for his talent and skills. At one point he was recognized as the mechanic of choice for Bob Keeshan (Captain Kangaroo).
Jerry met the love of his life, Stacie Fletcher, and they married October of 2018. Jerry is survived by his wife Stacie Fletcher-Duford, Charlestown NH; his son, Ryan Duford, Springfield, VT (Katelyn); and the light of his eyes, his grandson, Leighton James Duford. Stacie’s three children Jasmyn LaCasse (Eric) and their daughter Lylah. Christopher LaCasse and his children Liam and Kinsley. Tristan Lockhart. Leighton’s sisters: Ameira and Sawyer. A daughter Jennifer Marie of Claremont and her children Vander and Barrett. His mother Marion Duford of Claremont, his brother Robert Dezan (Diane), Hayden and his daughter Brady Dezan (John). Steve Lord and his children Ashton, Shaelyn and Lexie of Charlestown. Keith Duford (Karen) and their son’s Josh and Nate. Kevin Duford (Michelle) and their daughter’s Abbey and Amber. His sisters, Lori Menard, her daughter Kaitlin Mekus (Tony) and her son Benjamin Menard (Hayleigh) all from Claremont. Lisa Robbins (Steve) their children Nikki, Shawna and Steve Robbins from Unity. Several aunts, uncles, cousins, and special friends. He was loved by many.
Jerry was predeceased by his father Jerry V. Duford, Sr. His grandparents Clara Zigman, Leo and Estelle Duford and Charles and Rachel Adolph.
A celebration of his life will be held June 15, 2022 at Gunstock Mt in Gilford, NH. More details to follow at a later date.
