John D. (Jack) Bourdon died peacefully in his Marco Island home on Thursday, July 20, 2017.
Jack was born in Claremont, NH, on April 5, 1932, the youngest son of Douglas H. and Ruby Heath Bourdon. He lived in Claremont, NH, and Marco Island, FL, with his wife, Frances (Frannie) Bourdon.
He was a graduate of Stevens High School (class of 1950) and continued his education at St. Michael’s College in Winooski, VT. He served in the Army during the Korean War.
As s lifelong entrepreneur, Jack enjoyed many business ventures, most notably mattress manufacturing. He was the former owner of Bourdon’s Inc. with mattress factories in Claremont, NH, Cambridge, MA, and Providence, RI.
For many years he was a Director of the Connecticut River Bank. In addition, he was a longtime member of the BPOE, Claremont Country Club, and Lely Classics Country Club in Naples, FL.
Jack is survived by his wife of 61 years, Frannie, daughter Lisa, son Tom, daughter-in-law Brenda, grandchildren Lauren and Liza, and several nieces and nephews.
A private memorial service will be held at a later date.
The Stringer Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
