Henry (Hank) J. LaPointe, 82, of Claremont, NH, passed away on June 24, 2020, at the Jack Byrne Center, in Lebanon, NH, surrounded by his family. He was born on April 20, 1938, in Bellows Falls, VT, the son of Joseph and Marie (Pare) LaPointe.
He worked as an assembler for Joy Manufacturing, before working for many years in the water/sewer department for the City of Claremont, which he eventually retired from. He was a past president of the St. Mary’s Cemetery Association and a parishioner of St. Mary’s Church.
Henry enjoyed going to the senior center and playing pool, as well as playing cards. He loved anything to do with the outdoors, he enjoyed gardening and camping. He especially loved spending time and being with his family. He was very fond of his four grandsons.
His family includes his wife, Shirley (Rivet) LaPointe; his daughter, Jodie LaPointe-Massi; son, Curt LaPointe and his wife Charlene; grandsons, Chase Massi, Jacob LaPointe, Jarrett LaPointe, Garrett Massi; siblings, Joseph LaPointe, Donald LaPointe, Claire Macdonald, Michael LaPointe; and several nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by a son: Keith LaPointe; and siblings; Dorothy Weed, Marcella Obymako, and Maurice LaPointe.
Visiting hours will be held Sunday evening June 28th, from 2 to 4 pm at Stringer Funeral Home, 146 Broad Street, Claremont, NH. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in St. Mary’s Church in Claremont on Monday, June 29th at 11 AM with the Very Rev. Shawn Therrien officiating. Burial will follow in St. Mary Cemetery.
Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the funeral home and LaPointe family ask all attending the visitation to abide with all regulations and please wear a mask and use social distancing.
