Frederick Lowe Poisson Sr., born February 3, 1947, left his earthly body on February 25th, 2017, after a long and fearless battle with cancer. He was a lifelong resident of Charlestown and a graduate of Charlestown High School, class of 1965. The owner and operator of PMH SALES/Fred’s Transport, he also served for many years on the town planning board. He was above all else a family man, who cared for and loved very deeply his wife of nearly 50 years, Virginia, and his two children. His love extended endlessly to his grandchildren who were the light of his days. He was a remarkably compassionate man who would help anyone who needed it whether he had the means to or not; his heart was an endless sea of generosity and kindness that was frequently hidden from view by his often times boisterous personality. He was many things, but most importantly he was a man of integrity. He will be greatly missed.
He is survived by his wife Virginia, his daughter Heather Blackwelder and her husband John, their three children Neal, Leo, and Drew, of Oakland, CA, his son Frederick Poisson, Jr., his wife Nichole and their two children Eben and Vina of Eliot, ME. His brother and sister in-law George and Yvette Poisson of Claremont and his sister and brother in-law Lauria and Tom Bascom of Mesa, AZ, as well as his longtime friend Kenneth Champney, a man whose kindness and loyalty is greatly appreciated by the family. He was predeceased by his parents Anne and Leo Poisson.
