CLAREMONT, NH–The Claremont Police Department, in conjunction with the Claremont Fire Department, Golden Cross Ambulance and the Elm Wood Center, will be conducting an Emergency Preparedness Drill on the morning of Tuesday, Aug. 2, at the Elm Wood Center, 290 Hanover Street. This drill is a followup to prior emergency preparedness training provided by the Claremont Police Department to the Elm Wood Center staff. The drill will be followed by a thorough debriefing with all participants. The debriefing is the most important component of the drill and forms the basis of its educational benefit, said Claremont Police Chief Alex Scott.
There will be perimeter security during the event to ensure the safety of the drill along with an internal safety monitor. This information is being released by the CPD so as not to create any unnecessary concern or alarm on the part of the public, said Scott.
