Elizabeth (O’Brien) Ward died September 7, 2019. She was born in Rockingham, VT, on May 10, 1917, to Katherine (Hennessey) and Hugh F. O’Brien. She attended school in Bellows Falls and Northeastern College in Boston, MA. In 1940 she married Ralph Ward. They had five children: Jean Anderson, Mary who died at birth, Ralph (Susan), Kathleen (Wilfred) Boutin, and Thomas (Kelliye). She had 16 grandchildren, 25 great-grandchildren and seven great-great grandchildren, nephews James and Steve Kingsley, many cousins and lifelong friends.
She was predeceased by her parents, husband Ralph, child Mary, and sister Claire Kingsley.
She has been a communicant at St. Catherine’s Church since moving to Charlestown in 1943. In 2016 she received the Boston Post Cane which has been hanging in the Selectman’s Office.
