Dona Fay Stripp, 81, of Charlestown, NH, passed away unexpectedly on December 31, 2019.
Dona was born on June 4th, 1938, to Floyd and Bernice (Brinkman) Hoag in Medina, NY. She was raised in East Pembroke, NY, and graduated from Corfu Central School in 1955.
After graduation, she began her banking career, at the age of 17, at the Marine Trust in Batavia, NY. She continued her banking career at the Wyoming County Bank in Wyoming, NY, where she became a Branch Manager and Officer of the Wyoming Branch. Dona worked at the Wyoming Branch until her retirement.
Dona married the love of her life, Wayne H. Stripp, on January 24th, 1959. Together they had two children, Wayne and Lisa.
Throughout her life, Dona was a School Board Member in Wyoming, NY, a Treasurer or the Silver Lake Cottage Owners Association in Perry, NY, an employee of the Fletcher Farm Craft School in Ludlow, VT, and a past President of the Granite State Doll Club. After the passing of her beloved husband in 2002, she also became an avid volunteer at the Pink Smock Shoppe at Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center in Lebanon, NH.
Dona was predeceased by her husband, her parents and her brother, David Hoag.
She is survived by her children Wayne David (Ellie) Stripp and Lisa (P. Kevin) Chamberlain; her six grandchildren, Sarah Chamberlain, Joshua (Amanda) Chamberlain, Jacob Chamberlain, Jeremy Chamberlain, James Chamberlain and Francis Stripp; and her two great granddaughters, Hailey Chamberlain and Brooke Chamberlain, who were her pride and joy.
Per Dona’s request there will be no formal calling hours or funeral services at this time. There will be a burial and Celebration of Life at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to either the American Diabetes Association or the Children’s Hospital at Dartmouth Hitchcock (CHAD) in Lebanon, NH.
