Don Collins, 86, of Leeds, passed away peacefully surrounded by his beloved wife and many family members on January 18, 2017.
Don was born to William and Evelyn Collins on May 26, 1930. He grew up in Lansing, MI, with his older siblings, Russ, Lyn and Art. He attended Michigan State College and the University of Michigan as a young man.
Later his love of art led to a Bachelor’s degree in Fine Art from UMASS Amherst.
He worked for Kollmorgen in Northampton for many years.
Don leaves behind Lee (Hoyt), the love of his life, after 40 years together.
He was proud of his children, Kevin, Tim, Sheila, Dwight, Mary, Tanya, Kati and Dana; 15 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren. They will remember how gentle, kind, loving and sometimes silly he was.
Don loved drawing, painting and spending time in his boat fishing locally.
A graveside celebration is planned for May 1st at 2 PM at the West Claremont Burying Grounds in Claremont, NH.
