Dolores Amelia Blish, 85, of Red Water Brook Road in Claremont, NH, passed away peacefully on August 12, 2020 at the Jack Byrne Center in Lebanon.
She was born in Plainfield, NH, on August 23, 1934, the daughter of Lee and Katherine (Smith) Woodward and had been a lifetime area resident. She was the widow of Elwin Blish, who died on March 16, 1988.
Surviving members of her family include a daughter, Sandra Hawkins and her husband, Glenn of Sunapee; two sons, Steven Blish of Newport and Scott Blish of Unity; three grandchildren, Melissa Hawkins, Seth Hawkins, and Brandon Blish; and two sisters, Kay Kibbie of Cornish and Dianna Lockwood of Laconia.
Dolores was employed as a supervisor by Sylvania Corporation for 34 years. She enjoyed her flowers, watching the birds in her yard, crocheting, quilting, sewing, knitting and camping.
Visiting hours will be held from 10:00-11:00 am on Wednesday, August 19 at the Roy Funeral Home, 93 Sullivan Street, Claremont. A funeral service will take place immediately after visiting hours at 11:00 am, with the interment following at Mountain View Cemetery. Priscilla Hull will be officiating. Due to the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic, the Blish family and the funeral home ask all attending the visitation and service to abide with all current regulations, including wearing a mask and social distancing.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions be made to either the Sullivan County Humane Society, 14 Tremont Street, Claremont, NH 03743 or the Jack Byrne Center, 154 Hitchcock Loop Road, Lebanon, NH 03756.
