Darby E. LaBerge, 62, of Borough Road in Charlestown, NH, died at his home on December 11, 2019, after a battle with cancer.
Darby was born in Springfield, VT, on June 22, 1957, the son of Donald and Rena (Still) LaBerge. He lived his life in Charlestown, NH, where he enjoyed his passion for hunting and fishing. Deep sea fishing was his big lore. He worked many jobs in his life and was talented in anything mechanical and was an exceptional carpenter to include plumbing. Excavating was another passion. He had an eye for looking at a job and envisioning the outcome. In high school Darby was an exceptional soccer player. He went to Florida and played semi-pro soccer and was offered a spot on a professional soccer team. This would have meant being away from home for years and because of his love for New Hampshire, he turned down the offer.
Members of his family include three sisters, Gladys McDonald, Cross Junction, VA; Gale Gantt, Charlestown, NH; Janet LaBerge, Pembroke, MA; two brothers, Victor Pearce, Brownsville, ME; Donald Pearce, GA; nephews, Thomas Gantt, Edward McDonald, Raymond Macie, nieces, Katherine McDonald Anderson, Alyssa Parkhurst.
He was predeceased by his parents and a brother and sister. There will be no visiting hours. A Celebration of Darby’s Life will be held from 1 – 4 pm on Saturday, Feb. 22 at the VFW, 150 Charlestown Road Claremont, NH.
You are invited to share a memory of Darby with the family or leave a message of condolence in the family guest book at www.royfuneralhome.com.
