CLAREMONT, NH–On Saturday, Jan. 21, at about 10:15 p.m., Claremont Public Safety services were dispatched to the area of Main and North Streets for a report of a motor vehicle crash where the involved vehicle had gone into the Sugar River. First responders located one vehicle submerged in the water, and it was determined that it had been occupied by only one person, the driver. She was identified as Charlie Fotter, 31, Claremont, NH. Fotter was treated and released for minor injuries at Valley Regional Hospital. The preliminary crash investigation revealed that impairment was allegedly a contributor. As a result, Fotter was arrested and charged with Driving Under the Influence. She was released on personal recognizance bail and is expected to appear in the 5th Circuit District Court-Claremont Division later in February.
