With heavy hearts the family announces the passing of Brandy Clemons, 41, at her home on Crescent Lake in Acworth, NH, on Feb. 9, 2017, after a long illness.
Brandy was born on November 4, 1975, in New Haven, CT, to Ward Harding Clemons, Jr. and Brenda (Baronas) Clemons. Brandy grew up in Whately, MA, attending Whately, Frontier Regional and Franklin County Technical Schools. Brandy lived life to the fullest every day, never complaining, always cheerful and loving to everyone. She also spent most summer days at her grandparents Benny and Dotty Baronas’ White Birch Campgrounds in Whately from the time she was a toddler. She won the hearts of many campers. She was active in Boy Scouts Crew 1 for special needs in Western MA enjoying monthly camping trips, Chesterfield Scout Reservation and traveling to special needs camporees all over New England. She moved to New Hampshire in 2004 with her Aunt Diane and became active in the Special Olympics Cool Cats of Claremont, NH winning numerous medals in bowling, basketball, swimming, snowshoeing, and bocce ball. She also a very active member of King’s Table, a faith based organization sponsored by Life Fellowship Church of Charlestown, NH for special need adults led by pastors Mike and Carol Gibson. She loved to travel anytime, anywhere with her Aunt Diane crisscrossing the country three times. The highlight of her trip with her mother and aunt to Universal Orlando and Disney World in May was visiting the Wizarding World of Harry Potter, Hogsmeade and Diagon Alley. She also met Scooby Doo in “person” and received lots of hugs. Special thanks to the Tim Tebow Foundation and the Life Fellowship Church for sponsoring a “Night to Shine” prom for special needs adults. It was an opportunity for Brandy and many others to experience their first prom with “red carpet” treatment including gowns, tuxes, flowers, limo rides, banquet, band, and photos. Brandy was a Pink Hatter of the Sugar River Chicks Red Hats in Newport, NH. Brandy loved all animals and volunteered at the Lucy McKensie Humane Society as a “cat whisperer” to help acclimate cats to people.
Brandy is survived by her mother, Brenda (Baronas) Clemons, her twin brothers, Jason H. Clemons and his wife Sara, their children Jason, Emily and Wyatt, and Joshua H. Clemons and his wife Alicia, their children Abigail and Ethan all of Whately, MA. Maternal grandmother Dotty Baronas of Amherst, MA, her aunt Diane Clemons of Acworth, NH, her aunt Mary Baronas of Amherst, MA, her uncle Ray and Lori Baronas of South Deerfield, MA, her great aunt Felicia Baronas and very special friend/companion Tom Lathrop of Claremont, NH. She also leaves extended family Raye Adams of Unity, NH; Bill Gagnon of Chicopee, MA; John Sansone of Auburn, ME; Frank Evans of Florence, MA and special “sisters” Christina Parrish and Bekah Mazzola of Claremont, NH.
Brandy was predeceased by her father Ward H Clemons, Jr, paternal grandparents Ward and Luella Clemons, maternal grandfather Benny Baronas, special grandparents Charlie and Clara Turner.
Brandy’s family would like to thank Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical, Dr. Hourdequin and Elizabeth McGrath DNP; Lake Sunapee Region Hospice; Special Olympics Cool Cats; King’s Table and Life Fellowship Church; Tim Tebow Foundation; Pathways; Scoutmaster Frank Evans BSA Troop11/Crew 1 and the many, many friends who gave her so much love and made her life wonderful.
Calling hours will be Saturday, 2/18/17 from 9:30 – 11: 00 followed by a service at Wrisley’s Funeral Home, 90 Sugarloaf Street, South Deerfield, MA.
Visiting hours will also be held on Saturday, February 25th, from 10 AM to 12 PM at the Stringer Funeral Home, 146 Broad Street, Claremont NH with a service at 11:30. Refreshments will follow at Grace River Church.
