Beryl A. (Sanderson) Rice, a long time resident of Sullivan County Nursing Home in Unity, NH, passed away on August 27, 2017.
Beryl was born in Brandon, VT, on November 3, 1937, and was the daughter of Edward Sanderson and Laura (Bishop) Sanderson.
Prior to her retirement, Beryl was employed by Sullivan County Health Care as the Human Resource Manager. Beryl was a beloved wife, mother, sister, grandmother, great grandmother, aunt and friend. Beryl loved to spend time with her family and friends. She loved reading, working in her flower gardens, cake decorating, sewing, decorating her home, reading and shopping. She also owned and operated Ginger Jar Ceramics, a home based ceramic studio located in Charlestown, NH, where she taught ceramic classes, painting and enjoyed creating beautiful ceramic art.
Beryl is survived by her five children, including Edwin Rice, III and wife, Cherie of Claremont, NH, Robert Rice of Jacksonville, FL, Pamela R. Ryan and husband Ricky Ryan of Bow, NH, Beth LaFreniere of Marlow, NH, and Tracie Allen and husband Dennis Allen of Springfield, VT. Beryl also leaves behind 11 grandchildren and 8 great- grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her high school sweetheart and beloved husband of over 50 years, Edwin Rice, Jr., her brother Edward Sanderson, Jr., sister Barbara Hutchinson and parents Edward and Laura Sanderson.
Friends may call at the Stringer Funeral Home, 146 Broad Street in Claremont on Thursday, August 31st, from 6PM-8PM and will be immediately followed by a short memorial service at the same location. The family invites you to share any memories or messages at www.stringerfh.com.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made in Beryl’s name to the Alzheimer’s Association. Internment will be at Pine Crest Cemetery in Charlestown, NH.
