Beatrice Louise Gefrich, 79, formerly of Charlestown, NH, died February 7, 2017, at Maplewood Nursing Home in Westmoreland, NH.
She was born in Milford, CT, on Sept. 13, 1937, the daughter of George and Beatrice (McLaughlin) Gefrich and has resided in Charlestown since 1994.
She graduated from Milford High School, attended the University of Conn., Santa Monica College in CA and University of CA at Los Angeles.
Having been raised in Milford, CT she lived in Washington, DC, La Jolla, CA, Santa Monica, CA for twenty years, in Marlboro, MA and Charlestown, NH. She worked on medical research at Yale and basic research at U.C.L.A. and worked on test for multiple sclerosis.
Having had a long-term illness, herself she worked in hospice, volunteer work and was a counselor for addiction.
She was a former member and Deacon for St. Mary Church in Milford, a member of St Catherine of Siena Church in Charlestown, a member of the Anglican Church and the Vestry and also was a collector of art.
The surviving family includes one sister, Gail Roy of West Hartford, CT; one brother, George Joseph Gefrich of Kensington, NH and nieces, nephews and cousins.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St Catherine’s Church, Main Street in Charlestown on Tuesday morning, February 14th, at 11AM.
Burial will be held privately on Wednesday next to her mother in St John’s Cemetery in Stratford, CT.
The Stringer Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
