CONCORD, NH–New Hampshire Attorney General Joseph A. Foster and Assistant Commissioner of the Department of Safety and Acting Colonel of the State Police Robert Quinn announced Friday around midday that the name of the officer who shot Cody Lafont on September 25th is Corporal Ian Kibbe, a 21⁄2-year member of the Claremont Police Department. Kibbe was the only officer present at the time of the shooting. There was no recording device that captured the shooting, as the department does not have body cameras or cruiser cameras.
The investigation is ongoing and it is anticipated that a conclusion regarding whether the officer’s actions were lawful will be released in the coming weeks.
No other information was released today.
