CLAREMONT, NH—After a three-month criminal investigation, Claremont Police Chief Mark Chase and Sullivan County Attorney Marc Hathaway announced the arrest of Christopher Santolucito, 36, of Claremont, NH; the arrest and charges were announced Wednesday afternoon.
According to Claremont Police Chief Mark Chase, “This arrest comes after a joint investigation was conducted involving the Claremont Police Department, Sullivan County Sheriff’s Office and the NH Attorney General’s Drug Task Force. This investigation was to focus on a death that occurred in Claremont in February 2020.”
Chase said that “On February 21, 2020, Claremont Emergency Services responded to Birney’s Mini Mart for a possible overdose of a customer in the bathroom of the store. Upon arrival of emergency responders, there was an attempt to revive the female that was located in the store. Those attempts failed.” Chase identified the woman as: Kacey Grizzaffi, 22, of Lebanon, NH.
“The investigation of the death of Ms. Grizzaffi revealed that she died as a result of fentanyl toxicity,” said Chase. “ At the time of her death, Ms.Grizzaffi was pregnant with twins. The Claremont Police Criminal Division then conducted an investigation into where Ms. Grizzaffi obtained the drugs that caused her death. This investigation included seizure of cell phones, electronic monitoring equipment and various video surveillance systems from locations in Claremont.”
Based on that investigation, the Claremont Police applied for an arrest warrant for Santolucito for:Conspiracy to commit sales of controlled drug, Fentanyl.
Chase said that as a result of this arrest, additional evidence was obtained by members of the Criminal Division and additional charges have been filed on Santolucito. Those charges are:
ACTS PROHIBITED – SALE OF SUBSTANCE REPRESENTED TO BE HEROIN – 2 COUNTSACTS PROHIBITED – SALE OF SUBSTANCE REPRESENTED TO BE FENTANYL – 2 COUNTSACTS PROHIBITED – SALE OF SUBSTANCE REPRESENTED TO BE HEROIN, DEATH RESULTINGACTS PROHIBITED – SALE OF SUBSTANCE REPRESENTED TO BE FENTANYL, DEATH RESULTINGSECOND DEGREE ASSAULT x 2 (stillbirth of fetuses)
Santolucio was arraigned on these charges today in Sullivan County Superior Court. He was held without bail on Sale of Heroin, Death Resulting and Sale of Fentanyl, Death Resulting. All For the other charges, bail has been set at $10000.00 cash only along with certain conditions of bail.
