Albert G. Krumenaker, 94, of Claremont, NH, died on April 12, 2017, at his home.
He was born in New York City, NY, on January 30, 1923 the son of Albert G. and Mabel (Rubeor) Krumenaker.
Albert served overseas with the US Coast Guard in WWII, the Navy in the Korean Conflict and finished his military career in the Army Reserves earning the rank of Master Sergeant.
He retired from New England Power Co. in 1986. Before moving to Claremont, he lived in Hinsdale for many years. While there he served the town as Water & Sewer Commissioner, on the Budget Committee and as a police officer.
He was a life member of Post 4234 VFW of Hinsdale and Post #29 American Legion in Claremont. A 70 year member of the Masons & Shriners and was 32 Mason. He was past Master of Philesian Golden Rule Lodge #40 in Hinsdale and Hiram Lodge #9 in Claremont. A member of the Grand Order of the Sword of Bunker Hill and past President of the NH Police Square Club, a past Commander of the Legion of Honas Bektash Shriners in Concord and past Masters Unit Bektash Shriners. He was also a member of the Eastern Star and past Patron Naomie Chapter 36 in Hinsdale, Asteria Chapter #40 of Keene, member of Woodman Chapter #26 in Claremont, Portia Henocor Asteria # 14 of Hillsboro. He was a past Grand Warden of the Grand Chapter of NHOES, past President of the Grand Representatives Assoc., OES of NH.
In recent years, he stayed active with the Monday Lunch Bunch and drove cars for Enterprise Rental Car, Claremont Ford and Subaru.
He is survived by his son, Albert G. Krumenaker, Jr of Keene; his daughter, Karen G. Krumenaker of Loganville, GA; two grandchildren, Chad Rasp and Jamie Monahan; two great grandchildren, Robert C. Rasp and Teagan Lynn Monahan and a very dear friend and companion, Natalie Sheldon of Claremont.
He was predeceased by his wife of 37 years, Elizabeth “Judy” Krumenaker.
Visiting hours will be held at Stringer Funeral Home, 146 Broad Street in Claremont on Friday evening, April 14th from 6 to 8 PM. Funeral service will be held at the Stringer Funeral Home on Saturday morning at 11 AM. Burial will be held in the spring.
